Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores - His Final Act - Horus Interior

I worked on the asset pipeline, look-dev, environment art, and set dressing for the Horus interior in the main quest “His Final Act”. The player has to traverse the interior of a mountain-sized robot during the final boss encounter in this DLC. The level is one big dynamic object that moves around to mimic the experience of being inside a walking machine. This presented some unique technical hurdles while creating and iterating on the art. The asset-budget for this level was also extremely small, due to the bespoke nature of the environment. I designed a kit of only 10-ish unique props, that account for about 90% of the objects in the scene. These were properly modeled and textured by Yeongjin Jeon and the talented Robot Team here at Guerrilla. Despite all the challenges, this was quite a fun level to work on. Lastly, I want to give a shoutout to the Tech Design and Animation team. They really made this environment feel dynamic and alive.
